Manchaghast Cabin on The Siren, Tuesday Afternoon

Victor had spent the morning out and about, but after lunch he came back to the cabin and flopped back on his bed. He meant to just change into a swimsuit and head for the beach, but he found his eyes wandering toward Olive's side of the cabin and stayed where he was just to think for a minute.

He liked sharing the space with her. He'd been a little nervous that the whole experience would be awkward, but it hadn't been: It was like hanging out on the trips they'd taken together before, except at the end of the day they went to sleep in the same room. It was just they'd been dating a while now, and he'd thought maybe ...

Never mind what he thought. Things were good, and he wasn't about to wreck the relationship by pushing for more than they had. Even if some part of him wanted to.

"Then I'm glad I said it," Vicotr answered, just as soft, before he surrendered to that kiss.

She hadn't said it back, and even if some part of Victor was disappointed, it was ultimately okay -- this was Olive, he knew she wasn't the type to blurt out things without thinking them over. It was just as good to be lying beside her, kissing her, naked and warm and utterly at peace.

Olive curled closer to rest her head on Victor's chest -- as bad as she was at being a cuddler, this just felt natural. His words were still echoing around in her head, and she was still processing that, not to mention, you know, everything else. "So, um. That was okay?" she asked, more hesitantly than she'd have liked.

She was pretty sure it was more than okay, despite her not doing a whole lot or knowing what to do, but...you know. She maybe needed to hear that he didn't think her first attempt at sex was awful, despite the evidence.

Victor raised his head a bit at that. A fraction. Just enough to meet her eyes without breaking the embrace. "I thought it was amazing, yeah," he said, then -- some trepidation in his tone -- "Was it ... not for you?"

And now he was back to being nervous he'd hurt her again, but somehow he didn't think that was the problem.

"It was perfect for me," she said softly, watching him carefully. "I just -- you know, it was my first time, and no one's good at anything their first time." She shrugged, snuggling closer against him. "But as far as first times go -- on a boat, in Turkey, with you...yeah. 'Perfect' is the right word."

"And we had our first kiss in Africa," Victor remembered fondly, nestling even closer. His doubts seemed to be allayed by her answer. "Man, our anniversary dinner's gonna have to be on Mars at this rate."

He propped his head on his hand. "And, I thought you were pretty much spectacular, first time or not. But we could go for more practice in a little, if you really want."

He was considerate that way.

"So altruistic of you," Olive noted with a giggle, leaning in to kiss him again.

She had a feeling that without a Karolina or an Alec to potentially make uncomfortable, the rest of the trip was going to consist of a lot of practice in this particular area.

She was so far from complaining about that that it wasn't funny, though.
